Chemical Injection Systems

Chlorine Injection for Iron & Sulfur Bacteria
Chlorine Injection for Iron & Sulfur Bacteria
The CI-IB system injects liquid chlorine directly into your water supply to resolve iron and sulfur bacteria contamination problems. The system includes the new Stenner STS combination peristaltic chemical feed pump and solution storage tank - now in either 15 or 30 gallon tank size. The pump is connected to the included in-line static mixer for improved mixing of the chlorine solution into your water. The STS operates only when your well pump is running, and is available in either 110 or 220 voltage (please specify your existing well pump voltage when ordering). The system's 80 gallon retention tank insures that your water has sufficient contact time with the chlorine to destroy the contaminants. Either standard household bleach or the more concentrated commercially available liquid chlorine solution can be used as your chemical feed. You may want to remove the chlorine from your water that is added by this process - an automatic backwashing carbon filter is available on our Filters page. Typical size for this application is a 1.5 cubic foot unit.

Chlorine Injection for Bacterial Contamination
Chlorine Injection for Bacterial Contamination
The CI-BF is similar to the above liquid chlorination injection, but supplied with a larger 120 gallon retention tank. The larger tank is required to provide the additional contact time required to disinfect your water. Chemical Injection for pH Neutralization
Chemical Injection for pH Neutralization
This system injects a soda ash solution directly into your water supply to neutralize acidic water. The new Stenner STS combination peristaltic chemical feed pump & solution storage tank connects to the included in-line static mixer for improved mixing of the soda ash solution into your water. Solution storage tanks are now available in either 15 or 30 gallon tank size. The STS operates only when your well pump is running, and is available in either 110 or 220 voltage (please specify your existing well pump voltage when ordering). A 40 gallon retention tank insures sufficient contact time so that a neutral pH is obtained (static mixer and retention tank not shown). This package includes 50 pounds of powdered soda ash to get you started - mix this material in water to prepare your solution - a typical mix ratio is 4 ounces of soda ash per gallon of water.

Phosphate Injection for Irrigation Systems
Phosphate Injection for Irrigation Systems
Our phosphate injection system injectes a liquid poly-phosphate compound designed to keep iron and calcium suspended in water - great for use in lawn watering and irrigation systems! The system includes the new Stenner STS combination peristaltic chemical feed pump and solution storage tank - now in either 15 or 30 gallon tank size. The STS operates only when your well pump is running, and is available in either 110 or 220 voltage (please specify your existing well pump voltage when ordering). The pump is connected to the included in-line static mixer for improved mixing of the poly-phosphate solution into your water. This phosphate compound reduces the reddish stains that are formed on driveways, buildings, plants and shrubs during irrigation. Plants retain their natural color as the phosphate minimizes the white coating caused by hard water. Water lines and spray nozzles are not plugged by iron and calcium build-up. Phosphate injection reduces surface tension, allowing the water to soak into the root system quickly, reducing watering time. We recommend Aqua-Mag blended phosphate compound for superior results when compared to other poly-phosphate blends. Aqua-Mag is a clear homogeneous liquid that mixes instantly and stays in suspension in the solution storage tank. As little as 1/2 gallon of Aqua-Mag can treat up to 100,000 gallons of water.

Proportional Feed Add-On Package (Variable Flow)
Proportional Feed Add-On Package (Variable Flow)
Sometimes it is not possible to install your chemical injection system ahead of the pressure tank. After the pressure tank may be a better location, however, this requires our proportional flow add-on package. Our standard systems inject solution at a constant rate each time your well pump comes on. However, the flow after the pressure tank varies depending on household water use, and you will need the system to inject chemical solution at different (proportional) flow rates. This add-on package includes a contacting water meter and PCM (pump control module). It's available in two sizes, for either 3/4 or 1 inch diameter water supply piping. This add-on package requires purchase of a standard injection system (as shown above).

WELL-PRO
WELL-PRO
Chlorination is any easy and safe way to resolve a number of different water problems. Addition of chlorine can provide water disinfection, resolve iron and sulfur bacteria problems, and will act as a strong oxidizing agent remove color, hydrogen sulfide, iron and manganese from water! One method of adding chlorine to your well water is with the use of an automatic pellet dropper that places chlorine pellets directly into your well.

"Shocking" with chlorine simply involves periodically pouring chlorine bleach down into the well - there is no on-going addition of chlorine to maintain a uniform concentration and keep the problem from recurring. Our Autotrol Well-Pro automatic chlorine pellet dropper works only when your well pump comes on (please specify your existing well pump voltage when ordering). The dropper "drops" chlorine pellets into your well as your pump is running to maintaining a constant chlorine concentration in the well water.

Using a pellet dropper correctly requires that you have the following:
a) Submersible well pump (a jet pump system cannot be used with a pellet dropper)
b) Six inch (or larger) diameter well casing
c) You are not drawing water from an underground stream. You don’t want to chlorinate your neighbors wells - to check for this just pour a small amount of chlorine bleach into your well and see if you can detect the odor - if you can, then you should be OK with a pellet dropper.
d) Good access to your well head - a chlorine pellet dropper is installed right on your well head.

If you select chlorination, may want to consider an automatic backwashing carbon filter to remove the added chlorine from your water. A carbon filter also removes any sediment formed in the chlorination process down to 20 microns automatically - Visit our Filters to view this product. A typical size for this application is a 1.5 cubic foot unit.

Chlorine pellets manufactured and sized specifically for use with the Autotrol Well-Pro pellet dropper are available in case quantities. Each case contains nine 3 1/2 pound packs. Normal usage is 1 pack every 3 to 5 weeks - one case should last approximately nine months.
