The NIT-1M system removes nitrates from your household water supply! This dual tank system operates in a way similar to a water softener, and uses nitrate selective resin to rid your water of harmful nitrates. The system uses a Fleck 9000 mechanical metered Econominder control (3/4" connections standard) with a brass valve body. The 9000 Econominder delivers a higher flowrate for larger residential applications and uses an "up-flow" backwash for a very efficient cleaning of the softener resin bed. The system has a "twin tank" duplex design with two separate resin tanks and single brine tank. The unit is provided with an extended range meter (625 to 10,562 gallons) to provide you with the ability to regenerate as required between the indicated range. Beige colored resin tanks, manufactured by Structural, are poly lined and fiberglass reinforced. A system by-pass valve is included along with the purchase of this unit. With proper operation the media will last three to five years before requiring replacement. Your water should not contain nitrates at concentrations higher than 25 ppm - please email the factory for correct sizing if your water contains a higher nitrate concentration.
If your hardness exceeds 8 grains per gallon, your water must be pre-softened. The hardness components in your water (magnesium, calcium, etc.) will be selectively removed by the system - possibly leaving some of the nitrates behind - and shortening the life of the resin bed. So, if you have moderate to high levels of hardness in your water, you must always install a water softener upstream of the nitrate removal system. Description
By-pass valve - This is a connection to your water supply that allows you to take your softener out-of-service. Used when you are away for an extended time, or if service is required to the unit. Included!
Round Brine Tank and Grid - Our nitrate removal systems are always supplied with high quality round brine tanks, and brine tank grids. Also called a salt tank platform, a grid is installed into the bottom of the brine (salt) tank, and prevents "salt bridging". Bridging can occur when too much contact with water causes salt pellets to "stick" to each other. Included!
Anion Exchange Resin - CAI Technologies nitrate removal systems are supplied with advanced A520e anion exchange resin. Supplied by the Purolite Corporation, this is a high grade resin, specially designed for the removal of nitrates from water for potable processes. The macroporous matrix and special ion exchange group functionality imparts ideal nitrate selectivity making this resin particularly suitable for nitrate removal even when moderate to high concentrations of sulphate are present. Insulating Tank Jacket - Tank jackets are available that add a designer look to your nitrate removal system. Jackets also provide insulation, and prevent “sweating” in damp locations.
