A 4-gallon case of blended phosphoric acid offered under the brand names of Pro-Res and Res-Up (used for enhanced iron removal from water softener resin beds) is available with an automatic drip feeder. The feeder mounts onto your water softener brine tank, and drips solution into your brine tank over time. During the water softener regeneration stage, the brine solution (now containing the phosphoric acid) is drawn into the water softener, cleaning and removing any iron and many other contaminants from your water softener resin bed. Phosphoric Acid - This is a liquid Phosphoric Acid blend supplied under the brand names of Res-Up and Pro-Res Care. The solution is added to a water softener to remove iron and other contaminants that can lead to a fouled water softener resin bed. Regular use of this solution will minimize fouling, restore the ion exchange capacity of the resin, and extend the life of the water softener.
