A 3:1 mix of calcite (calcium carbonate) and Corosex (magnesium oxide) media is available for use in backwashing pH neutralizers. Magnesium oxide is a stronger neutralizing agent. This mix is used in low pH applications, or where the level of TDS (total dissolved solids is elevated. Note: This 3:1 mix ratio must be backwashed! Use of this mix ratio without regular backwashing may cause bed failure. Supplied in 1/2 cubic foot containers.
